Barry Barovick is a recognized entrepreneur and business leader with a rich history of advisory, transaction and management experience, and thorough understanding of the intersection of business strategies, asset management, technology and human capital.

For more than 30 years he has converged contemporary viewpoints, exceptional judgment and world-class valuation models to guide the successful start-up, transformation and rapid growth of global enterprises. He has experience spanning multiple industries and an exceptional record of translating thought leadership into actionable strategies that have delivered impressive results in revenue, earnings and value.

As a CEO and Board Director, Mr. Barovick has consistently created competitive advantages and increased shareholder value. Working with domestic and international corporations, public and private investors, and US and foreign governments, he has broad insights into the diversification and evolution of customer demographics, competitive platforms, economic factors and other key business drivers. This has enabled him to delineate innovative solutions and risk-based strategic approaches to investments, M&A transactions, public/private financing, asset management, partnerships/joint ventures and other multi-faceted business/financial dealings.

Mr. Barovick currently serves as a Board Advisor to a private aviation solutions company where he is providing strategic, financial and business development guidance to aide in the formation of a world-class global services platform. He also served on the Board of Advisors of a global merchant bank to develop sophisticated business and financial solutions for a portfolio of domestic and international companies, and offshore asset-backed investments.

Concurrent with Board advisory relationships, Mr. Barovick was most recently a Senior Managing Director and Global Director with FTI Consulting where he has developed relationships with high profile companies, investment firms and government agencies. During his 4 year tenure, he facilitated the merger integration of a niche consulting firm, built an integrated services platform, and launched a new practice area specializing in strategic investment and development solutions for US and international public sector clients. He also established the first advisory office in China, and extended geographic reach through strategic alliances to Africa, Asia/Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

Previously Mr. Barovick, co-founded a business advisory firm to address complex issues facing Fortune 500 and multinationals corporations, investment banks and private equity firms, and federal, state and municipal government agencies. He enhanced value on a $6B investment portfolio, and assisted a leading private equity firm in discreetly evaluating and purchasing a major global services company that generated $38M in cash for stakeholders. Additionally he advised a multi-billion dollar diversified corporation in its business restructuring resulting in $60M in annual financial improvements.

Mr. Barovick was appointed by the Board of Directors as CEO of Grubb & Ellis Company for a period of 2 years where he led a global restructuring and operational stabilization for a $450M publicly traded services company with 5K+ employees in 200+ offices worldwide. He then led an exit strategy, which delivered strong returns for primary investor, Warburg Pinches.

As Partner and Global Director of Corporate Advisory Services with Ernst & Young, Mr. Barovick built world-class advisory, transaction and management services platforms, and set new standards for the industry to emulate. He increased global market presence through acquisitions and organic growth, and earned the distinction as the “go to” advisor to C-level executives across the sports/entertainment, financial services, healthcare, high-tech, transportation sectors.

Mr. Barovick is an accomplished public speaker, published author and contributor to leading business media, industry organizations and government agencies. He is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Business Administration at the University of Rhode Island, his alma mater, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Economic Geography. Mr. Barovick also holds the designation as a Fellow & Eminent Professional (FRICS) with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
